UN Global Compact, GOAL 5: Gender equality – Achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
We are dedicated to making sure Caldaro is a gender-equal workplace. We want to ensure that employees in all functions do not face discrimination for their gender.
In many ways, it’s easier to work for gender equality when you run a company in Sweden. Here we believe that women and men should have equal power to shape society and their own lives. However, we still have a lot to do. The boardrooms in Sweden are still male-dominated, and there’s a 10 per cent pay gap on the average between men and women.
At Caldaro, we have a nearly even gender distribution among our employees, to us, it’s natural to pay women and men the same salary for the same job, anything else would be absurd.
In the Addtech Group’s employee survey, we are above the group average under the item Equality and Gender Equality. In the most recent survey, we got the highest rating ever: 5,5 out of 6. We are always looking for new people to hire and welcome women to apply for our open positions.
Work-family balance at Caldaro
Sweden is a good country to raise a family. From sweden.se:
“In Sweden’s efforts to achieve gender equality, each parent is entitled to 240 of the 480 days of paid parental leave. Each parent has 90 days reserved exclusively for him or her. Should one of the parents decide not to take them, they can’t be transferred to the partner. Today, men in Sweden take nearly 30 per cent of all paid parental leave – a figure the government hopes to improve.”
At Caldaro, we pay an extra parental salary to encourage all our employees to go on parental leave. To make it easier for parents to handle the work-family balance, we have a special playroom for children, with toys and games. From sweden.se:
“If you work in Sweden and need to take days off to care for a sick child, there is compensation through the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, which is available for children under 12 years. Children aged 12–15 require a doctor’s certificate.”
We will continue to strive to keep our even gender balance and nurture a gender-equal company culture.
